Family Residence and Interior Design
The owners wanted bright, traditional English interiors with a Laura Ashley influence, patterned fabrics and some shabby-chic details. Pink was a particular favourite, so the design challenge was to use it throughout the home without making the rooms feel overly decorative. The commission covered most of the interior and a kitchen extension that was built.
After exploring several concepts, we developed a palette of pink, blue, grey and warm neutrals, combining large patterns with mahogany and other dark-wood furniture, solid flooring and contemporary anthracite bifold doors. Glazed internal doors connected the hall, kitchen and living room. The entrance hall was designed as a particularly light, carefully detailed space that brought together the home's traditional and contemporary elements.
